TRAG Is Putting Together a New SERTS Committee

How about it, do you want to be on the new SERTS Committe, then Call President Joel Garner, or Jerry Gossett and let them know. All members of TRAG including associate members are welcome on the committee. Also vendors and exhibitors should have representation on the committee also.

Please call one of the men above - go to the TRAG website and get there number.

Just a short note to keep you updated. We have looked at Stone Mountain, Galliera, and The Georgia World Congress Center. We are also going to look at the Atlanta Speedway and Lanier Islands.

Thanks For A Great Show!

First of all Thanks, to all of you, Sponsors, Exhibitors, Attendees, Seminar Leaders and the TRAG Members, their wives, girlfriends and friends that helped make this associaion's SERTS (South Eastern Regional Tow Show) a huge success.

We appreciate the support, and we strongly incourage all our memberes of TRAG to support and buy equipment and supplies from those who supported our TRAG Association and the SERTS show.
.
There is no question, Thursday and Friday were kinda rough days with the wind sneaking up on us, that's the chance we take with outside shows. The attendannce was a little lacking on those days, but Saturday sure made up for it, the weather was great and so was the attendance.
.
This was the first show that I personally have been involved in within at least 10 years and a lot of things have changed, both in the towing industry and in the show business.
.
Our show committee strived to produce a quality show. We will make a lot of changes next year as a result of the feed back we have received from the exhibitors, sponsors and attendees.
.
This show was produced with only one agenda, to provide quality exhibitors, seminars, demonstations, and enterainment for the attendees and to provide high quality attendees and good attendence by the attendees for the exhibitors. We feel we suceeded in this mission, and we will seek to improve next year.
.
The feedback that we got from our exhibitors and sponsors on Saturday was nothing less than overwhelming and incredible, so much so that many sponsors and exhibitors came to us to tell us that that we could count on them for next year.
.
We were even handed a healty bonus check at the end of the day (to sponsor one of our most costly expenditures, the enertainment) by a manufactuer and distributor of tow trucks, that's when we added exhibitors NRC and Mathews Garage to or our Sponsor List, this was a very, very much appreciated surprise. We were told it was a result of the way we handled the show and gave the exhibitors and attendees what they were looking for.

Evereyone knows that you can't please everyone 100% of the time, there is always a few that get upset when thing do not go the way they think it should.
.
We have already received many suggestions on changes that would make the show a better show next year and I know our committee will study and address each and every one of them. Their commenttment is to improve and grow the quality of the show every year.
.

We Have Accomplished A Lot Over The Last Month.

Hello Folks,

Boy time really does fly. I have been busy working on the SERTS (Southeastern Regional Trade Show) and Incident Management Expo.

Just from memory, I will try to bring you up to date.

I went to the TIME (Traffic Incident Management Enhancement) Conferance in Calloway Gardens last month. It was great. I learned lot's about what has happened in the world of TIM over the past few years and what the future may be bringing to our industry and to all those involved in TIM (Traffic Incident Management.)

I recognized a few progressive people there from the towing industry, like the Weavers from Mauldens Body Shop, the Welchels from Marrietta Wrecker Service and there may have been more that I did not recognize. Congradulations to all those Towing Operators from the private Industry who attened who are going to be ahead of their competition and better prepared to serve their customers.

Also Congrats to all the Law Enforcement, Fire and Rescue, EMS, DOT and otheres that attended. A big congradulation and a thank you to the TIME committee who produced the conference. Let's not forget our very own Executive Director Jerry Gossett who was instrumental in provideing lots of assistance in the recrutement of vendors. I know jerry worked hard and long on that project. Thanks again Jerry.

Myself, Past President of TRAG and TRAA Mike Holland and our Executive Sales Manager in charge of exhibitor sales will be leaving in the morning for the Baltamore show. I will try to bring you more up to date sooner. By the way exhibit sales are starting to happen.

I appologie for not blogging earlier but I have been busier than a one armed paper hanger. I have worked many nights, all night until the wee hours of the morning on the www.2007AtlantaExpo.com .

I have been to the Tow Shows in Reno, NV, Rapid City, IA and Chattanooga,TN. I went to the huge Firehouse Expo in Baltamore, MD and just planted seeds by passing out our good looking postcard along with my business card. I also talked very breifly with a few very interested exhibitors. While on the floor in Baltamore I received more than a dozen calls wanting more information.

Well I think these trips have paid off because since I have been back I have already received well over 50 request for exhibits packages. It looks like we will be ready with our package on-line this week.

Exhibitors will be able to go to our EXHIBITS link on the www.2007AtlantaExpo.Com and download the exhibits package. I truly believe that we will sell all of our exhibit space early.

New Website for Incident Management Show Goes Up.

We have a new website for the show still in the building stages. http://www.2007atlantaexpo.com , keep your eye on it as it gets built.

We have been busy traveling to the shows all over the country. Holland and I went to the Reno show which was a great show and talked with many of the exhibitors there.

Some of them wanted to sign up on the spot but we do not have the exhibit packages ready yet.

From there we went to the Rapid City, Iowa Tow Show which was small compared to Reno but was more personable. We will be visiting more shows as the year goes on.

Again we received a great receptions everywhere we went. We are in the process of working with the fire dept associations, ambulance, rescue and police. I believe this is going to be the largest show in our industries in the Southeast. The reception has been nothing less than outstanding.

For those who want to support, help and participate in this huge project please contact me or Jerry Gossett and we will certainly put you to work. Let us know what your expertise is and well find a spot for sure.

SERTS Reception At Florida Show Was An Outstanding Success.

We (Fred Burt, Joel Garner, Mike Holland, Others and Myself) talked with and passed out post cards to a great number of exhibitors who were well receptive to our Incident Management Expo show in Atlanta. Some were so well receptive that they asked to be signed up on the spot.

All of those that I talked with said it was a great concept and that I could count on them being there. They said something needed to change as the old hum strum shows were wearing out and that this would be a breath of fresh air.

Florida's Show was great as it always is, exhibitors were selling out of their products and telling us that they wished that they had brought more product. There was a good crowd in the exhibit area on Saturday.

SERTS INCIDENT MANAGEMENT EXPO - Date & Location Set.

The SERTS show dates and location have been set for April 12th thru 15th 2007 at the 15 plus acres located at the Jim Miller Park and Arena in Marietta, GA a Metro Atlanta surburb.

At present we have a 800 rooms blocked in the area and are working on another 300.

This is the only location that we could locate that would hold the huge amount of tow trucks, rescue trucks, ambulances, police vehicles, helecopters, fire vehicles and equipment.

We plan to have the largest array of equipment associated with incident management and first responder incidents in the nation.

We plan on having a full spectrum of seminars, training and schooling in all areas of incident management and towing.

If your a potential participant or exhibitor you may want to make your reservations early as possible, we plan on doing an all out, no holds nation wide publicity campaign to bring thousands to this Incident Management Expo.

Meeting Date and Time Set

Jerry has set the date and time.

SERTS first committee meeting is on Wednesday April 12th, from 11:00 am to 2:30 at Jerry Gossett's (TRAG's) office.

Please be on time, as we are going to leave Jerry's office and go to lunch (Dutch Treat) Jerry is making the reservations.)

From there we are going on little, very little field trip to the proposed location of the next huge 2007 SERTS.

All members and associate members are invited.

Please come and get in on the initial planning and step up to be on a committee as a member or a chairman.

This SERTS is going to be huge and is going to be the largest tow show the South East has ever had.

We are going to need all the help we can get.

Hi all,

Hey, this is my very first post on a blog.

Since this blog is about the South Eastern Regional Tow Show and Road-E-O (SERTS) or (S.E.R.T.S.) which ever is proper, I should be talking about the Tow Show.

For those of you that don't know, President Joel Garner has appointed me the 2007 SERTS Show Director and I told him I am willing to take it on, here goes...

I am excited, my excitement is overflowing and I am not kidding. My vision is that we have the largest and highest quality, most vendors, most attendees and the greatest entertainment that any show has ever had in the US.

Not only is that my vision but is also my commitment that the SERTS be the largest tow show that the South has ever seen, both in attendance and in vendors. I ask that you take on that vision and commitment also.

We already have a proposed date and a location for the show that will fulfill the context of those expectations. Our first Committee meeting will be Wednesday, April 12, 2006 at the TRAG's office of Executive Director, Jerry Gossett in Smyrna, GA.

All Trag members are invited and highly recommended that they attend this meeting. I will be telling you what has been accomplished thus far, such as the proposed date of the show, the locations and the commitments I have from the proposed hotels and locations. I will be telling you all about who has already stepped up for various show committee chairpersons.

I will also be revealing some of the most important reasons why this show will be the most successful show in 2007.

I will be looking for members to step up to be show committee members and chairpersons.

I know that some of you may be thinking, we just got through with a show, but if we are going to have the largest tow show the south has ever seen then we need to get to work now. We got some brain storming and some think tanking to do and we want and need you all to help.
